Now and again, I would be seized by envy when my companions in different classes would chuckle at how simple their English class was, the means by which like eighth grade it was, and how they were getting simple ‘A’s. I needed to buckle down for my evaluations and hated their additional free time.â Later, however, I comprehended the significance of my ninth grade English class and Mrs. Rose.â I didn't battle close to as much as my friends in upper level secondary school classes and in school courses where educators were considerably more demanding.â I immovably accept that Mrs. Rose find out about sentence structure and composing than any of them and was thankful that I got an opportunity to gain from her at an early stage in my instruction as opposed to need to endure later. Mrs. Rose, who I accept has now died, was a commendable teacher.â Try as I would, I would never devise a sentence she couldn't diagram.â She appeared to invest wholeheartedly in my instructive triumphs, for example, my high SAT verbal score and my school acceptance.â therefore, I chose to turn into an educator myself and endeavor to imitate Mrs. Rose in all that I do in my classes.â I, as a matter of fact currently, realize that Mrs. Rose didn't get any fiscal prizes for her promise to teaching.â truth be told, our awards as educators are substantially more internal.â However, I am sure that she knew her impact on me since I advised her, as did numerous different understudies I knew.â When an understudy discloses to me the amount I have helped them, I know how she felt at that point.  The most effective method to refer to Mrs. Rose †The ninth grade disciplinarian!, Essay models

In this manner contemplating the above perspectives, the report would underscore after understanding the business forms for conveying the ideal results, creating plans for the usage of the operational plans, coaching the fitting frameworks for upgraded hierarchical execution and the manners by which wellbeing and security at work environment can be overseen. In addition the above realities would be examined with regards to the Jaguar Halewood Plant in Liverpool. Understanding the Business Processes of Jaguar Interrelationships between Organizational Departments of Jaguar Investigating the business elements of Jaguar, it tends to be induced that, the two most significant offices that has solid commitments to the accomplishment in conveying the correct items to the correct clients at the perfect spot and in the correct quality incorporate the buy division and the creation office. The creation branch of the organization is engaged with changing over the contributions to yields and therefore the foundation of the division is the buy office since it encourages the creation office with the correct acquirement of the materials at the most ideal costs with legitimate arrangement with the providers. Besides the creation division relies on the crude materials and the framework for proficiently delivering the merchandise (Burr, 2007). Anyway its smooth working for the most part relies on the proficiency of the buy office in setting of guaranteeing the way that the correct materials are made accessible at the ideal time at the correct cost and at the ideal spot and until and except if the buying office is proficient it would not prompt successful creation of the merchandise. So both the buy and the creation office should work in a planned way for powerful progression of merchandise and enterprises and this ought to be kept couple with the authoritative limit. Supporting the Methodology for Mapping the Processes The technique utilized by Jaguar for delivering its items by productively changing over the contributions to yields can be named as the information change yield process. The system can be clarified with the assistance of the accompanying figure: [Source: www.saylor.org] Mulling over the instance of Jaguar, the items are created and amassed with the assistance of the assembling tasks and with the assistance of the get together office and in this way the information sources are as plastic, steel, tires, fabric and different materials that are utilized for the gather of the vehicle (Zhang, 2010). Besides the sources of info can be in type of materials, clients and data. The materials are changed in the activity procedure by rolling out an improvement in their physical properties and this rehearsed in associations like panther. Again change of data happens in the associations to make developments in their items to oblige the particular needs of the clients (Hernndez et al., 2008). Again change of clients happens in associations like panther by delivering an item and afterward making an interest. As the essential needs of the clients can be happy with a general vehicle however lavish vehicles of panther include an incentive since it tends to be viewed as a superficial point of interest with respect to the clients. Assessing the Output and Quality passages The necessities that should be followed for advancement of the item alludes to the quality entryway and hence the prerequisites should be appropriately checked and assessed before being given over to the structure division. So quality door can be considered answerable for assessing the necessities before they are fused inside the determinations of the vehicle. In this way in this unique circumstance, the quality portal guarantees that the prerequisites are related with explicit models which would encourage in clearing whether the necessity would be appropriate or not. Then again keeping up the straightforwardness of the procedure is the obligation of the procedure map model and this is finished by rearranging the intricate procedure. So this encourages in characterizing the means that should be done so as to lead the procedure proficiently which includes successful correspondence among the staff individuals, the administration and the clients. In this way it very well may be said tha t the procedure map model encourages the administration in increasing a comprehension of the procedures that re associated with the creation and how assets can be assigned productively so as to accomplish the ideal yield. Subsequently it is surmised that quality entryway works in a planned way with the procedure map model at Jaguar so the prerequisites can be proficiently estimated against the particular basis to turn into a piece of the determination of the yield (Taiwo, 2001). This can be delineated with the figure as follows: [Source: www.informit.com] Creating Plans for the Implementation of the Operational Plans Plans for Promoting Goals and Objectives Being associated with the item improvement division of Jaguar, I might want to make reference to the reality Jaguar which is viewed as the world class car organization endeavors towards looking for circumstances in the advancements that are occurring in the innovation so the presentation of the items can be upgraded. So as to accomplish the previously mentioned objective, Jaguar moved towards working with the Virtual Engineering Center so they can use their aptitude for creating logical work processes and improve the procedure of recreation and displaying (Stfc.ac.uk, 2011). So this encourages the organization in investigating the item execution at beginning times of planning and this outcome in a limited utilization of the physical models which will in general limit the costs associated with assembling. SAMRT Objectives The above arrangement of the organization is to accomplish certain SAMRT goals which are as per the following: To upgrade the presentation of the vehicles thinking about the wellbeing of the people on foot. To bring down the costs associated with assembling. To create vehicles which would draw in the clients and offer included administrations other than fulfilling their essential needs. To turn into a carbon impartial organization later on. To set up an immediate connection with the end clients. To accomplish a development of US $8 to $10 million constantly 2020 Upgrade consumer loyalty Normalize the nature of the items and its exhibition e over the globe. To actualize the SAP framework to upgrade the CRM procedure before the year's over 2015. The association so as to accomplish the destinations needs to prepare their representatives so they become fit for utilizing the actualized innovation to improve the presentation of the vehicles and upgrade their structure and become fit for working the SAP framework for upgraded CRM process. Execution of frameworks by Jaguar The organization so as to accomplish the previously mentioned destinations would endeavor towards actualizing the quality frameworks along with going into a tie up with the Virtual Engineering Center for the advancement of logical work processes and execute the Computer-Aided Engineering Process as a team with the Virtual Engineering Center where logical work processes would be incorporated with high performing PC assets to plan vehicles with overhauled model and improved execution. This would prompt the advancement of different structures bringing into play useful assets for displaying with the assistance of the programmed methodology which would give the chance of investigating the vehicle plan and the exhibition. Additionally the all out quality frameworks would be executed would be actualized to improve the nature of the vehicles through proficient quality testing which would upgrade the fulfillment with respect to the clients and would legitimately impact its deals and income (Hicks and Upton, 2010). This framework would prompt decreased assembling costs by disposing of missteps and squanders. Notwithstanding the above frameworks, the execution of SAP would encourage the association to keep up and record the information identified with the exhibition of the vehicle and information identified with the clients. These information would be prepared which would encourage in making a point of view insight which would again be used in making certain alteration and advancement and improvement of the vehicle. Utilization of WBS, Gantt diagram and Critical Path Analysis The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized by the venture administrators to improve the execution of the task and consequently following advantages are related with the procedure: Exact association of the embraced venture Proficient dissemination of the obligations of the colleagues. Away from of the control focuses and the achievements of the venture Successful estimation of the time, cost and hazard included Away from of the extent of the task so the extent of the venture can be effortlessly comprehended by the partners (Eric Kirkland, 2014). Again while dealing with a venture it is significant the exercises engaged with the fulfillment of the undertaking are finished inside the particular time and this is significant in light of the fact that, if any cutoff time is missed or on the off chance that any errand is begun without the arrangement, at that point it would impact the accomplishment of the task and would show up as a bunk with respect to the association. So if the exercises are obviously characterized and are noticeable by the colleagues for example at the point when a specific movement should be begun and finished then it would encourage in accomplishing the cutoff times. The significant reason that spurs understudies to escape secondary school is the budgetary circumstance of their folks. Not all understudies originate from a rich family. In view of an absence of cash, a few guardians can't manage the cost of their children’s need, for example, school supplies, transportation or sustenance. Consistently, they simply have a low rate work or perhaps they are on the status of joblessness. It gets difficult to deal with their family and even themselves. Neediness is a superior word to depict their money related circumstance. It’s consequently certain that an understudy who lives in such conditions will drop out of school and will attempt to get a new line of work so as to get some cash. Moreover, a few understudies from secondary school have a ton of challenges to get adjusted to the educational system. To give superior instruction, schools are constantly settled on an exacting framework that forces understudies to adhere to certain guidelines so as to get acceptable outcomes. For instance, the educational system expects understudies to be available each day of class and on schedule, to get their work done and to contemplate or to make investigate. Notwithstanding, a few understudies locate that troublesome and ugly. They don't feel inspired or intrigued for school. Accordingly, they bomb in class. The better method to get information is to go to class. The more somebody goes to class, the more he gains information. Also, when young people drop out of secondary school, they are likely presented to adolescent wrongdoing. They don’t go to class any longer, so they have enough available time. Constantly, they don't have anything to do, and they invest their energy by remaining in the road with companions. During this period, they may get included into awful things, for example, wrongdoing, savagery and vandalism. In reality, they become a peril for the general public. Some of them flee from their family and go to get destitute. At long last, understudies who drop out of secondary school are not taught enough. At the point when individuals quit going to class early, they don’t have a likelihood to be taught enough. They don’t carry on effectively and they are not trained. They can't discuss effectively like individuals who go to class. Some of the time, those individuals can't talk and compose well. For instance, it’s inconceivable for an uneducated individual to give some relevant thoughts regarding a matter concerning the improvement of a nation. They don’t have a capacity to think enough. Taking everything into account, secondary school dropouts are because of numerous causes, for example, the budgetary circumstance, the family condition and the trouble of understudies to get adjusted to the educational system; be that as it may, that circumstance delivers long haul impacts. While a few understudies quit going to class on account of an absence of cash and in view of their family condition, some of them are simply apathetic. They don’t need to give any endeavors. But I didnt feel true to myself, that bugged me.   Before I knew it, the  little junkie thinking that  had been quiet for some time came along.   How unfair, it said,  you didnt even remember if you enjoyed it or not. Did those two cigarettes really do anything?   NO!   Over and over.  The next thing I knew, I was sneaking a cigarette from my mom and hiding in the bathroom smoking. Let me tell you .... I felt worse.   More  disappointed in myself.   More untrue to myself.   Tuesday, some very stressful thing is occurring with my oldest son and he leaves his cigarette pack and lighter in my car. And that is the end of the story, the end of the battle I had fought so hard over the last three months.   Today is Sunday, 8 days since my small, little mistake.  This afternoon after work I could not wait to get home and have a smoke.  Let me tell you just how quickly you get right back into the swing of this horrible addiction...it was 8 quick days for me. Let me tell you,  if you are several weeks, months, years into your quit and those little voices in your head start whispering that just one wont hurt or you are under too much stress and need to smoke just one...  Or lets just see how it feels to smoke one after all this time...will you not enjoy it or will you... Let me tell you what is going to happen.   Let me tell you how you are going to feel.   You are going to get physically sick.   Your head is going to POUND worse then a migraine for two days straight.   You are going to be to be sick to your  stomach.   Your lungs will instantly hurt. It will hurt to breathe and your airways will tighten up again.   You  are going to end up with the worst sinus  and chest infection you can imagine.   You will feel your heart race to where you think you might be having a heart attack.   You can actually feel your  blood vessels tighten.   You are going to have NO energy.   Mentally... you are going to be so disappointed in yourself and feel like  the disgusting trash that society  makes  you out to be.   Like everyone can smell you a mile away.   YOU ARE GOING TO FEEL SO ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. So let me tell you... no matter at what point in your quit you are at, if that little voice in  your head pops up  and you are even remotely thinking of giving in,  STOP.  Take a deep breath and think about what you are about to do.   Dont be a fool...wait out the 3 to  5 minutes,  take some deep breaths, drink some water, take a shower, do some jumping jacks or whatever it is that will help you get past those faulty thoughts of smoking.  DO NOT GIVE IN to that little annoying voice.   Let me tell you..I am not giving up  and my battle  will remain as  November of 2014, but my new quit date will be very soon. ~Jenn

Can I Apply to College as a High School Junior

The traditional path to college involves four years of high school, culminating with senior year, prom, graduation, and all that comes with it. While many students look forward to the last year of their high school experience, others are eager to start in on the next stage in their life: college. Particularly motivated students may even want to apply to college during junior year and skip senior year all together. But can you apply to college as a junior in high school? And is applying to college as a junior a good idea? The answer to both questions is †¦ it depends. In this article, we’ll talk about how to determine whether or not you can apply to college as a junior in high school, whether or not you should apply to college during junior year, and what to do if you’re interested in getting an early start on your college career. Deciding whether or not to apply to college as a junior If you’re considering applying to college as a junior in high school, there are a few factors that may affect your ability to apply, as well as your candidacy once you do apply. Why you may not be able to apply to college during junior year Whether or not you can apply to college as a junior in high school depends largely on the schools you’re planning to apply to. Some colleges do not take applications from high school juniors at all, preferring for their applicants to have completed all four years of high school. This means that if any of the schools you’re interested in only take applications from high school seniors, you will not be able to apply as a junior. Similarly, some colleges will accept applications from juniors, but only under certain conditions. One of the most common requirements is that a junior will be able to receive their high school diploma before entering college as a freshman. As this entails completing graduation requirements (including classes, tests, capstone projects, etc.) a full year early, this is not always possible. For some students, it is simply too late to finish all of the requirements before the end of junior year, even with a rigorous course load. For others, their school may not be willing to work with them on a plan to earn their diploma early. In any case, you must ensure that you are able to meet your chosen schools’ prerequisites before deciding to apply early. Why you may not want to apply to college during junior year Now, once you’ve figured out whether you can apply to college in your junior year, it’s time to figure out whether that’s a good idea for you. In the (slightly adapted) words of Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park, some students become â€Å"so preoccupied with whether or not they could [apply to college as a junior], they [don’t] stop to think if they should [apply to college as a junior]†. The main reason not to apply to college during junior year is that, in most cases, your application will be less competitive without senior year. For instance, senior year is typically when students take their most rigorous course load — students applying as a junior will often have far fewer impressive courses on their transcript. Similarly, an additional year provides opportunities for students to improve their grades, increasing their GPA and creating the upward trajectory admissions committees weigh heavily in their decisions. Even outside of school, there are benefits to taking an additional year to apply to college. Juniors applying to college early don’t have the same opportunity to develop their SAT or ACT scores over the course of a year or more, through multiple exam sittings and SAT or ACT classes or tutoring. This often results in lower overall test scores (another major component of the college application). And the list goes on: extracurricular activities show less long-term commitment, admissions essays are rushed, letters of recommendation come from teachers who haven’t spent a full year with you, etc, etc. In a nutshell, if you are hoping to attend a more competitive school, applying to college as a junior in high school is likely not a good move. Less time in high school = less opportunity to demonstrate your qualifications as an applicant. This also applies to more competitive scholarships — with one fewer year to show yourself deserving of scholarship money, you’ll be more likely to be passed over in favor of a potential recipient with fuller resume. Alternatives to applying to college as a junior in high school While starting college full-time a year early might not be the best option for you, there are several other opportunities available to students that give them similar experiences and advancement over their peers, without hurting their chances of admittance at the school of their dreams. One such option is taking a selection of AP courses. AP classes are taught at the college level, which can often fill the needs of students looking for more academic rigor. Similarly, many American colleges award course credit and placement in higher-level classes to students with qualifying scores on their AP examinations, allowing students to earn college credit while still enrolled in high school. Having more APs on your high school transcript is also looked upon favorably by college admissions committees, so this option allows you to have your cake and eat it too. Another alternative available at some high schools is enrolling part-time at a local community or technical college while continuing to attend some classes at your high school. Often called â€Å"Running Start† programs, these options allow students to get the college experience without deviating from the traditional four-year high school path. Such students apply to their desired colleges as normal in their senior year, just with more experience and college credit under their belts. How to apply to college as a junior in high school If you’ve considered all of the above and are still interested in applying to college as a junior, there are several steps you’ll need to take, the earlier the better. Research the colleges on your list As mentioned above, it is critical to know exactly what the colleges you’re interested in require of juniors who wish to apply. Take the time to thoroughly research each of the schools you’re interested in as early as possible so you know what you will need to do by what dates for which schools. An important note here: this information is not always readily available on schools websites — after all, the vast majority of college applicants are in their senior year of high school! You’ll likely need to call the admissions office of each school and speak directly to a representative. Make a detailed plan Once you know what you need and when you need it by, make a timeline to accomplish each of the necessary tasks by their respective deadlines. This often means working with your school to figure out how to meet graduation requirements and receive your diploma by the end of your junior year. You’ll also need to plan for taking (and possibly retaking) your SAT or ACT, writing your admissions essays, getting your letters of recommendation, putting together your applications, and anything else specifically required by your chosen schools. Talk to an expert Even if you’ve done your due diligence with researching and planning, applying to college as a junior is a special circumstance, and you’ll be best served by taking special care to ensure that it goes well. One tip is to enlist the continued help of a high school counselor — they can help out with logistics with regard to both your high school classes and other elements of your application. Why I Am Here Testimony - 1727 Words

Oriana Pyavka Why I’m here: Testimony Coming into bible school I was in a very confused and vulnerable place in my life. I felt no love towards nor from the people that surrounded and deep down I knew that loved me. But most of all I felt no love from nor towards the one whom I should have been loving the most. My heart did not fully belong towards the one who created it. I thought that reading the bible, attending church, and avoiding big sins was good enough. The reason I wasn t satisfied by Christianity is because it wasn t Christianity. I had religion, but I didn t have Jesus. I knew what love was, but not the God who is love. Growing up I was told and taught to fear God but not in the way I should have. I was so†¦show more content†¦I think that many of us have fallen and sinned so much and so often that the whole system of salvation and grace doesn t really make sense. I mean how is it possible to recover from all the years of disobedience and thousands of sins made? The prob lem with me was that I couldn t fully comprehend that the term salvation and forgiveness was actually created and meant for sinners like myself. I couldn t understand the fact that I qualify for mercy. I couldn t understand that what I need, I couldn t possibly do anything to deserve it. I didn t believe that someone as great as God would ever look down on me and love me. I didn t think I was or could ever be worthy of such a love. One of my favorite quotes was once said by Thomas Watson â€Å"Jesus Christ went more willingly to the cross than we do to the throne of grace.† Every time I denied Gods love and forgiveness I was basically telling Jesus that what He did for me wasn t enough. The pain He went through and the blood that He shed for me on the cross wasn t enough. I was so stubborn and arrogant thinking that if only I do this and this right, if only I say this and this right, then maybe I could earn God s love. I couldn t comprehend that the type of love I

Maya or Mayan How to Refer to the People and Culture

When do you use Maya, and when Mayan? You may have noticed that when you read in popular books or visit the archaeological ruins along the Pacific coast of Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and parts of Honduras, or access websites or watch television programs, some of the participants refer to the Mayan civilization and others the Maya civilization; or theyll sometimes say Maya ruins and other times Mayan ruins. So, did you ever wonder, which of the speakers is right Maya Civilization To English speakers, the form Mayan as an adjective sounds right. You wouldnt say Spain ruins, youd say Spanish ruins, you wouldnt say Mesopotamia civilization, youd say Mesopotamian civilization. But archaeologists, particularly those who study the Maya people, prefer to write of the Maya civilization. Specifically, in English language Maya studies, scholars generally only use the adjective form Mayan when they refer to the language(s) spoken by the Maya today and in the past, and use â€Å"Maya† when referring to people, places, and culture, without distinction between singular or plural. In the scholarly literature, its never Mayas. There are six million people in parts of Mesoamerica who speak one of more than 20 different Mayan languages. The Data An examination of style guides from archaeological or anthropological journals does not reveal any such specific references about whether you should use Maya or Mayan: but normally, they dont do that for even the more clearly problematic use of Aztec versus Mexica. Theres no article that says scholars think its better to use Maya rather than Mayan: it is simply an unwritten but recognized preference among scholars. Based on an informal search on Google Scholar conducted in June 2018 for English-language articles published since 2014, the preferred usage among anthropologists and archaeologists is to reserve Mayan for the language and use Maya for the people, culture, society and archaeological ruins. Search Term Number of Results Comments maya civilization 2,010 The first page of results includes scientific papers and books, all from archaeologists mayan civilization 923 The first page includes no archaeological papers but does include those from geologists, educators, and linguists maya culture 1,280 The first page is dominated by papers from archaeologists. Interestingly, google scholar prompts the searcher Did you mean mayan culture? mayan culture 1,160 The first page includes references from a variety of disciplines Searching for the Maya The results of using the main Google search engine to learn more about the Maya are interesting as well. If you simply search for the Mayan civilization, Googles main search will automatically direct you to sources labeled as Maya civilization without asking you: Google, and Wikipedia, have picked up on the differentiation among scholars and have decided for us which is the preferred method. If you simply Google the term â€Å"Maya† your results will include the 3D animated software, the Sanskrit term for magic and Maya Angelou, while if you enter â€Å"Mayan† the search engine will return you to links to the â€Å"Maya civilization. Who The Ancient Maya Were The use of Maya rather than Mayan may be a part of the way scholars perceive the Maya. In a review paper more than a decade ago, Rosemary Joyce made this clear. For her article, she read four recent major books on the Maya and at the end of that review, she realized that the books had something in common. She wrote that thinking about the prehistoric Maya as if they were a singular, unified group of people or even a set of artistic traits or language or architecture, stands in the way of appreciating the diversity of the deep history of Yucatan, Belize, Guatemala,  and Honduras. The cultures that we think of as Maya had more than one language, even within a single community. There was never a centralized government, although it is clear from existing inscriptions that political and social alliances extended over long distances. Over time, those alliances shifted in tenor and strength. Art and architectural forms vary from site to site and in some cases from ruler to ruler, a good example of this is Puuc versus Toltec architecture at Chichen Itza. Settlement and household archaeology vary with status and subsistence methods. To really study the ancient Maya culture, you have to narrow your field of vision. Bottom Line So thats why you see in the scholarly literature references to the Lowland Maya or Highland Maya or the Maya Riviera and why in general scholars concentrate on specific periods and specific sets of archaeological sites when they study the Maya. Whether you say the prehistoric Maya or Mayan cultures doesnt really matter in the long run, as long as you remember that you are referring to a rich diversity of cultures and people who lived and adapted to the regional environments of Mesoamerica, and maintained trade connections with each other, but were not a unified whole. Essay on Analysis of A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift

Analysis of A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift In his biting political satire called ?A Modest Proposal,? Jonathan Swift seeks to create empathy for the poor through his ironic portrayal of the children of Irish beggars as commodities that can be regulated and even eaten. He is able to poke fun at the dehumanization of the multitudes of poor people in Ireland by ironically commenting on what he sees as an extension of the current situation. Swift?s essay seeks to comment on the terrible condition of starvation that a huge portion of Ireland has been forced into, and the inane rationalizations that the rich are quick to submit in order to justify the economic inequality. He is able to highlight the absurdity of these attempted†¦show more content†¦like animals, he is in fact improving their lifestyle, for the voluntary abortions that these women are forced to commit ? would move tears and pity to the most savage and inhuman beast.? His use of diction relating to livestock as well as his cold, calculated tones and con stant appeals to foreign authority mirror and comment upon the elite?s absurb rationalization for their abuse and exploition of the dredges of society. He constantly likens beggers to animals, even comparing children to ?sheep, black cattle or swine? and even speaking of them interms of ?fore and hind quarter?s. His tone is so disturbingly uninvolved and methodical that he is able to calculate exactly how many meals a baby will serve and even pictures cannibalism as a socially acceptable occurence when ?entertaining friends.? Throughout the piece Swift constantly seeks to jusify his proposal by mentioning the suggestions he has received from his influential friends in foreign countries. This illustrates that the narrator?s mind is even farther removed from the immediate crisis and famine. As people read through the passage, Swift is able to sneakily encourage people to question the authority of their elitist leadership. As he continues writing Swift uses a constant barrage of ironic juxtapostions of ideas and sarcastic comments to convey the sheer ludicressness of the narrator?s arguement. Even an artist whose only contact with the audience is through the sale of millions of compact discs and tapes communicates â€Å"personally† with each listener† Pg. 33 of Popular Music and Communication by James Lull Sage Publications, C 1992. Everyone has a soundtrack to their lives and I found the first part of mine in 2000 with an album by a band named Papa Roach. My mother and father are separated; there divorce was based on the fact that my father was abusive towards my mother. The one song I could strongly relate to on that album was a song titled â€Å"Broken Home† I can’t seem to fight these feelings I’m caught in the middle of this My wounds are not healing I’m stuck in between my parents I wish I had someone to talk to Someone to I could confide in†¦ Broken home All alone I know my mother loves me But does my father even care If I’m sad or angry You were never ever there When I needed you I hope you regret what you did I think I know the truth Your father did the same to you†¦ (Infest, Papa Roach, April 25, 2000, DreamWorks Records) When I heard this song it really opened my eyes, for the past sixteen years of my life I never knew that my fathers father had left when he was very young, it was a revelation to me, that this man who is my grandfather, that I have only seen a few times in my life, and my father were one in the same. After recently ending a relationship with someone that had truly changed my life I continue to listen to this song from a popular punk rock Band MxPx. The song is about someone giving up on girls and relationships and joining G. S. F. â€Å"Girls Schmirls Foundation† â€Å"You didn’t have to be so mean to me I guess now I see how it’s gonna be I’m joining GSF, I’ve made up my mind Forget this thing called love, it’s a waste of time Girls ain’t no good anymore, anyway! Not for one second have I understood Why they do what they do, why they say what they say Always happens to my friends, it always happens to me It’s taken me 19 years to finally see She said â€Å"Can we just be friends? It’s just not working out. † Another broken heart that I can do without Girls ain’t no good anymore, anyway! Not for one second have I understood Why they do what they do, why they say what they say† Many of my friends say that they can relate to how I feel and the song is a good way for me to get my feelings out and to show that girl she hurt me. Music is also used to help boost morale in teams and fans at sporting events. Once a Spurs fan hears, â€Å"Are You Ready for This? † they automatically begin to get hyped for the preceding game. The same is at football games, especially college football games. When the fans at Texas State hear â€Å"Go Bobcats† they automatically get on there feet and begin to participate in the hand gestures and sing the chorus. The football team, whether win, lose or draw will be on that field singing the Alma Mater. There are those fan jams that are required at any sporting event, such as Queens â€Å"We Will Rock You† and â€Å"We are the Champions† Music is used at these events to get a crowd hyped and the teams pumped and excited that they are playing in front of a large group of people that believe in them. As you can see Music is all around us. It is apart of our lives. It helps us express our feelings towards other people, it helps us to close old wounds made by tragic events, it also give us a reason to cheer and sporting events, but the most important thing music gives us is a voice, a reason, a definition of who we real are. Analysis of Fatality Incidents for Examiners - myassignmenthelp.com

Question: Discuss about theAnalysis of Fatality Incidents for Medical Examiners. Answer: Description of the incident The report is based on the analysis of an incident where the workers were engaged in troubleshooting of a clogged pipe. The method that was applied for this purpose was adding the water to feeder line and then heating with the help of steam so that the materials can be broken which blocked the pipe. The relief cap was removed on the feeder line during the process of draining and this caused the contact of heated water with the worker. The worker had to suffer from severe burns in more than 80% of his body and later he died after suffering for 41 days (Fatality investigation reports., 2018). Background information related to the incident The incident occurred in the facility of JBS Canada Incorporated (JBS Foods) which mainly specialises in the processing of beef. The facility where the processing takes place is located in Brooks, Alberta and around 2000 workers are employed in the unit. The works are employed in the processing and the distribution of various types of meat including the graded and ungraded variety. The incident took place in the rendering area of the facility. The superintendent of the rendering section has been working in the facility for 17 years in different roles (Carroll et al., 2017). He was in the position of rendering superintendent for 4 years during the time of the incident. Many training programs had been completed by the rendering superintendent which were related to the process of rendering in the facility of JBS Foods. The supervisor was injured fatally when the incident in the facility. The supervisor has gone through many training programs related to the process before he was employed in the position. The training programs were related safety and health related issues in the working process of the employees (Katsavouni Rosenberg, 2016). Evidence available from the incident The equipment which was related to the incident is the 30.5 cm wide steel pipe which was at a length of 115m from the raw materials area. The purpose of the feeder line was to transport the raw beef from the area of raw materials to the super cooker which was installed in the rendering area. The feeder pipe was installed in the year 1995 and the design was developed by the Dupps Co., which is a manufacturing organization machinery required for processing. The feeder line 1 was considered to be a critical part of the entire process and it has a back-up when problems occurred in the line. The installation of the pipe had taken place before the facility was acquired by JBS Foods. The relief cap was attached to the opening of the pipe which was installed so that the workers were able to access the section. The water line comprised of a ball valve with a Chicago style fitting which was enabled the standard hose to be attached to the feeder line (Kjellstrom et al., 2016). Causes of the incident The major cause behind the incident was the blockage that had been detected in the feeder line 1. The blockages were detected in the control room as the pumps were struggling to move the product. Two days after this blockage issue, same problems were faced by the operations department of the facility and it was determined that the blockage had occurred again. The steps that were taken by the management to solve this issue included, the installation of a camera in the line to help in determining the source of the blockage. An equipment named pig was installed into the feeder and the operations were resumed (Merrill et al. 2016). This further led to blockage in the feeder line and it was now required to be dismantled to solve the issue. However, the scheduled maintenance related operations were not performed. The operations in the facility started and the superintendent started his job. The incident took place after he tried to remove the blockage by adding heated water into feeder lin e. The direct cause of the incident is the negligence from the end of the organization regarding the completion of maintenance work of the machine that was due for many days. This had led to the further of blockage of the pipe which caused the accident (Scheibe Blackhurst, 2017). Actions taken after the incident The rendering superintendent had seen the incident and he took the supervisor to the emergency shower that was present in the facility. The medical staff were called to the facility and the supervisor was immediately taken to the Brooks hospital. The management needs to implement maintenance plans every week so that the blockages can be detected and the issue can be resolved instantly. The cameras installed in the feeder lines need to be monitored on a continuous basis. Plan to implement the actions The actions that are needed to be taken by the management of the organization includes, the regular maintenance work of the equipments. The delay of scheduled maintenance was a major reason behind the incident. The workers also need to be provided with regular training sessions so that they are aware of the issues that can occur due to the fault in machines. The weekly maintenance of machines and regular training sessions can be helpful in preventing the occurrence of these incidents (Pierce, 2016). The employer needs to make sure that the untrained employees are not exposed to the usage of such sensitive machines. Six months after the implementation of the actions, the facility needs to well maintained and the cameras installed in the various areas need to be working properly. Elevator History Essay Example For Students

Elevator History Essay An elevator is a mechanism for moving people and freight from level to level in abuilding or any other structure. The first elevator-like structure was built in 236 BC by theArchimeds. This construction was a hoist operated by ropes and pulleys. However, thefirst pragmatic elevator was not developed until the 19th century. Though sensible, thiselevator has been modified many times throughout the course of history and is stillupdated with all of the new advancements in math and technology. From the start of theproduction of elevators through today, there have been numerous and boundlessimprovements made on their structure and how they operate: all due to the advancementof mathematics and technology. The first elevator developed was known as a manual elevator. This system ofelevators used relay logic. Relay logic was a simple wiring based on circuits. This typeof elevator did not transfer people from one level to another, only cargo. *****The second type of elevators was developed in the 1800s. These elevators werepowered by steam. At first, these elevators were used solely to transport freight infactories and ore in mines. Unfortunately, these elevators required a safety device torestrain the elevator from dropping if its supporting cable broke, and this had not beeninvented yet. Eventually, this necessity was discerned and acted upon. In 1852, ElishaGraves Otis designed the first safety contrivance for elevators. This device was a systeminvolving spring-operated cams that affianced the guide rails in the elevator shaft when thecable broke. This secured the elevator from subsiding which enabled steam poweredelevators to be used for transporting people along with cargo. This new use was causedby the precautions taken in improving the safety of steam powered elevators. It was firstused for people in 1857 in New Yorks own Haughwout department store. This edificewas driven by steam power: unlike the manual elevator it had the capability of transportingpeople from floor to floor. Though this was a major amplification in the manufacturing ofelevators, technology and mathematics were still improving allowing for even more typesof ameliorated elevators to take the place of those already produced. As mathematics advanced, the third type of elevators was formulated. This beingthe hydraulic elevator was the first practical elevator with semblance to those of todaystime. The concept of hydraulics is somewhat based on Pascals Law. This stated thatpressure exerted upon a liquid is transmitted in all directions at the same magnitude. Thiswas theorized sometime in the mid-17th century yet its capability of advancing andexplaining technology was not fully accredited until the 19th century when hydraulicelevators were first introduced. Hydraulic elevators were used between 1857 and 1889. Operated by means of a vertical plunger, this elevator traveled up and down a cylinderpushing and lowering the car above it. The vertical plunger was reallocated by liquidunder pressure. A hand-driven pump (hydraulic jack) created this pressure. The basicidea behind any hydraulic system is extraordinarily simple. Any force that is applied at onepoint is moved to another point using an incompressible fluid (either oil or water) whilethe force is frequently multiplied in the process. The fluid used was most often oil. Oilwas preferred over water because of its shielding and lubricating behavior, and in the caseof mineral oil, its low coherence. Though the popular use of hydraulic elevators ended in1889, they are still used in prewar buildings. Furthermore, they are presently utilized incarrying certain heavy masses. Electrically driven elevators were devised before their initial commercialapplication in 1889. This presentation took place in one of New Yorks finest buildings, the Demarest. .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 , .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .postImageUrl , .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 , .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1:hover , .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1:visited , .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1:active { border:0!important; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1:active , .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1 .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u4d0368e1ea5ca2a65ed87a30eb56e2a1:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Harrison bergeron 2 Essay For the first time in all history, an electrically driven elevator was installedfor the utilization of the public. This genre of elevator was operated by an electric motor. This motor drove a winding drum in the basement of the building.Following this, significant advancements came about in 1894 and then another in 1895. First, in 1894,push-button controls were introduced. Like modern elevators, this invention sufferedpeople to simply push the button of the floor they were going to instead of having to use alever to determine the floor (by pushing it left or right for down and the opposite for up). The second invention (1895) was that of a hoisting apparatus. This device wasascertained in England. Its purport was to make the move of the cable drum to

History The american promise book. Were the americas discovered or Essay

History The american promise book. Were the americas discovered or were the conquered explain - Essay Example gh the Treaty of Tordesillas claimed duopoly of all the non-European lands with the Spanish claiming control over all the lands in contact with the Pacific Ocean. European nations such as France and England disputed the Treaty and thus went ahead and unsuccessfully established their colonies in the Americas in the 16th century, and later together with the Republic of Dutch, permanently established their colonies in the Caribbean Islands and North America. The Spanish together with their Indian allies were able to conquer the Inca and Aztec empires which controlled Central Mexico and Western South America respectively. (Roark, 2006) extensively shows how another Spanish expedition led by Hernan Kortes landed on the Gulf Coast. He allied himself with the Tlaxcallans, sworn enemies of the Aztec .This saw an increase in hostilities witnessed in the City of Tenochtiltan leading to the killings at the Main Temple and subsequent death of Moctezuma II. This led to the Spanish eventually fleeing the city before coming back to lay siege on Tenochtiltan thereby destroying the city. The Spanish then installed puppet rulers such as Andres de Tapia Motelchiuh to further their interests. Another Spanish expedition led by Pizarro Francisco had to travel back to Spain to get the royal approval to conquer the Inca Empire. They were also able to alienate the Tlaxcallans and turn them against the Tenochtiltans. The use of cavalries and cannons made it easier for them to conquer the natives. These elaborate conquests lay credence to the claim that the Americas were conquered. The conquest was resource-driven. The European Nations were interested in the wealth and treasures of the

The Role of Human Resource in the Success of an Organization Essay

The Role of Human Resource in the Success of an Organization - Essay Example They were treated with less concern and still the focus of human resource were on improving the methodologies of production by focusing on skills of workers and how they will be able to accomplish their tasks in relation to their job. Other factors that affects effectiveness of worker i.e. interest and career growth, were of less consequence as measure of organizational effectiveness. As more studies were conducted to determine secrets of effective management, more theories and findings were identified and more books were written that give precedence to the significance of behavioral factors in the success of managing organizations or developing teams to accomplish organizational objectives. Total Quality Management, for one covers several aspects of management. It applies to the quality of the strategic thinking exhibited by executives, the quality of the firm’s ethics or company beliefs, the quality of training, the quality of technology management, and to the quality of communications2. It encompasses everything. If you’ll look at it, it significantly stresses higher concern on the human resource factor and it is way beyond the original concept of how industry looks at the role of HR to the effective management. Now, HR is an integral part of management and plays significant part in the success of the organization. They became a partner of the management team and perform more than personnel management or office records management. HR became not only as a mother figure in a commercial company, who talks and handles grievances of employees but also, they play a role in decision-making, policy development and implementation of the company’s aspirations and beliefs.
